Abstract:
Objective To investigate and analyze the prevalent characteristics of high total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and high blood triglycerides (TG) in adults in Heilongjiang province in 2013. Methods Multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to investigate 5 998 adults at 10 monitoring sites in Heilongjiang province. A total of 5 969 blood samples were collected to test for TC, LDL, HDL- C, LDL-C and TG. After complex weighting of data, the prevalent rates of all indicators were calculated. Results The prevalent rates of high TC, high LDL-C, low HDL-C and high TG were respectively 6.19% (7.59% in urban areas and 5.20% in rural areas) , 8.05% (10.29% in urban areas and 6.47% in rural areas) , 26.75% (27.13 in urban areas and 26.48% in rural areas) and 16.65% (18.25% in urban areas and 15.52% in rural areas) . The prevalent rates of high TC, low HDL-C, high LDL- C, and high TG were different in different regions and body mass indices (BMIs)(P< 0.01) . Conclusion The main dyslipidemia of adults in Heilongjiang are low HDL-C and high TG. The prevalent rates in urban areas are higher than those in rural areas. The prevalent rates are significantly increased with higher BMI.
